Privacy

Habets B.V. operates the following privacy policy in respect of the use of its website.

General
Habets never uses information relating to users of its websites for the purpose of sending offers of products and services (direct marketing, email spam etc.). Habets does not make information about visitors to its websites available to third parties.

Where reference is made below to technical characteristics of a query, click, display, search or the like, this is understood to mean: requested URL, IP number, time, HTTP refererrer URL (sometimes including your search terms in the case of a search engine) user agent string, browser type, screen size and the like. We do not check (even if this were possible) who is using which IP number at which moment in time, and we do not therefore trace this information back to your person.

Habets does not record any particular personal information relating to for instance religion or beliefs, race or origin, health, sex-life, criminal law, political affinity or membership of professional organizations.

Visiting the website
When you visit our website, the technical characteristics of your queries are then tracked in so-called log files on our servers. This information is saved for several months only for the purpose of statistical analyses. We do not check (even if this were possible) who is using which IP number at which moment in time, and we do not therefore trace this information back to your person.

Searches
When you use a search function on our website, your search terms may then be tracked together with the technical characteristics in so-called log files on our servers. This information is saved for several months only for the purpose of statistical analyses. We do not check (even if this were possible) who is using which IP number at which moment in time, and we do not therefore trace this information back to your person.

Newsletters
When you opt-in or opt-out for any of our e-mail newsletters, the technical characteristics of your transaction are then saved for several months together with your e-mail address. In addition, your e-mail address is saved only for the purpose of sending the relevant newsletter for the full duration of your subscription in the subscribers list. If you wish, you can use an e-mail address for your subscription which cannot be traced back to your person.

You can at all times opt out of any of our newsletters in a reasonable and self-evident way stated at the end of each edition of the relevant newsletter. If you do not succeed in opting out in this way, we will, by way of exception, remove you from the subscribers list after receipt of a written request to this effect.

Contact forms and e-mail
If you complete and upload a contact form, application form or information form on our web site, or send us an e-mail, the information which you send to us is saved by us together with the technical characteristics for a length of time which, given the nature of the form and of your message, is necessary or reasonable for a full response, handling and/or accounting in respect of your message. In addition, your message may be kept in our e-mail archive, where, as a consequence of backup procedures and a legal obligation to retain records, it can be saved for seven years.

Interviews and quotes
If you have been interviewed or quoted on our website, and after a period of time have a reasonable objection to continued publication of the text with mention of your name, and your name is in fact not relevant to the reader, we are then generally prepared to anonymize the interview or quotation at your request and to replace your name with a fictitious name (stating that “at the request of the person involved the name has been changed”).

Exceptions: misuse, obligations
When in our opinion there is misuse or improper use of our facilities, we may then refuse access to specific IP numbers and/or e-mail addresses for a definite or indefinite period of time. In the case of forms of misuse where the interests of third parties are damaged, we can make the relevant information available to these third parties. In the case of misuse we may attempt to trace the information to your person, for instance for the purpose of making contact with you, a parent, guardian, teacher, supervisor, manager, person ultimately responsible or the like, or to report misuse or take legal action against you.

Habets makes information available when obliged to do so by the authorities.

Making a request to Habets
Where reference is made in this privacy statement to a written request to Habets, this can be made in the first instance by e-mail. Because of the many forms of misuse of online communication (including form spam and e-mail spam), we cannot however guarantee that such a request will reach us. Experience also shows that online requests are often incomplete or inaccurate and do not contain all the information necessary to be able to deal with them.

We therefore deem ourselves bound only to an appropriate response to an actually written request, i.e. in the form of a proper letter, typed or legibly written on paper, provided with the name and address of the person / company.
